What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels. They can help a site function, remember preferences, measure traffic, or support embedded features.
Current state of this Site
The ExcelyTech Site at https://excelytech.com is primarily a static marketing website. As of the last updated date above:
- First-party analytics cookies are not enabled through our site configuration (
analyticsEnabledis false). We do not intentionally load first-party analytics scripts that set measurement cookies in the Site codebase while this setting remains off. - Marketing or advertising cookies are not used by the Site for retargeting or cross-site profiling.
- Live chat may be enabled when
chatEnabledis true. The configured provider is Tawk.to, which may set cookies or similar storage to operate the widget and maintain chat sessions. See Tawk.to’s published documentation for details about their technologies. - Essential cookies may still be set by our hosting, content delivery, or security providers to deliver pages, maintain sessions at the edge, or protect against abuse. These are typically short-lived and tied to technical operation rather than marketing profiles.
Because essential hosting cookies depend on infrastructure choices, their exact names and durations may change when we update hosting providers or configuration. We will update this Policy when those changes materially affect visitors.
Cookie categories
Strictly necessary (essential)
These cookies (or equivalent technologies) are required for basic Site operation, security, load balancing, or fraud prevention. They do not require consent in many jurisdictions because the Site cannot function reliably without them. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the Site may not work as intended.
Analytics (optional — not currently enabled)
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the Site (for example, pages viewed and general traffic patterns). When we enable analytics in siteConfig.integrations by setting analyticsEnabled to true and providing an analyticsId, we will deploy the corresponding measurement script and update this Policy to name the provider, describe cookies set, retention, and any opt-out mechanisms offered by that provider.
Until that configuration change is made and documented here, you should not receive first-party analytics cookies from ExcelyTech’s Site scripts.
Functional / chat (optional)
When chatEnabled is true and chatProvider is set to tawk, the Site loads the Tawk.to widget. That provider may set cookies or similar storage to maintain chat sessions, remember preferences, or secure the widget. Refer to Tawk.to’s published privacy and cookie documentation for current details. Setting chatEnabled to false in site-config.js stops our site code from loading the widget.
Marketing (not used)
We do not use marketing cookies on this Site to track you across third-party sites for advertising purposes.
Consent
Where required by law, we will obtain consent before setting non-essential cookies. Today, because analytics and marketing cookies are not enabled through our configuration, your main choices are browser controls and whether to continue using optional features if we enable them in the future.
If we introduce a cookie consent banner or preference center, this Policy will describe how to manage choices and how preferences are stored.
Your controls
You can manage cookies through your browser settings, including to:
- Delete existing cookies;
- Block third-party or all cookies;
- Receive alerts when cookies are set.
Browser manufacturers publish guidance for common products. Blocking essential cookies may affect Site performance or security features provided by our host.
Retention
Session cookies typically expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them. When analytics or chat are enabled in the future, retention periods will follow the relevant provider’s documentation and our updated disclosures in this Policy.
Third-party content
If we embed third-party content (for example, videos or maps) in the future, those providers may set their own cookies when you interact with the embed. Their practices are governed by their policies, not this Site alone.
Updates
We will revise this Cookie Policy when we change hosting, enable analytics or chat in site configuration, or otherwise materially change how cookies are used. Check the “Last updated” date above for the current version.
